Attention Residents Of Fort Simpson:
Crews spent the day mopping up several overnight ignitions. Although fire activity has eased, the wildfire remains spread across a large area. Hazard trees continue to pose a significant risk, making the area unsafe for the public.
During this period of relatively calm conditions, crews are focusing on strengthening containment and securing the fire’s perimeter in preparation for the rising temperatures and stronger winds expected in the coming days.
